SIGNATURE PROGRAM ROUND 5

Summer Fertilization & Weed Control

Start here after your service. These are the standard instructions for this treatment round.

ROUND5OF 7

People & pets

Stay off the treated lawn until it is completely dry, with a two-hour minimum.

Watering

The fertilizer will need to be watered in with a heavy watering. We recommend a 25- to 30-minute cycle. If weeds are present, wait 24 hours before watering.

Mowing

If weeds are present, wait 48 hours to mow. If no weeds are present, you can resume normal landscaping after the fertilizer is watered in.

Prevent summer stress

Check the lawn and sprinkler coverage regularly. Do not wait for widespread browning before increasing watering time.

If your service completion email identifies a property-specific adjustment, follow that exception for this visit.

SEASONAL ADJUSTMENTS

Now is the time to adjust your sprinkler for summer.

If you have not adjusted your sprinkler run times for summer yet, now is the time. Hot temperatures and the typical lack of rain increase the amount of water your lawn needs. Increase the total minutes per sprinkler zone, monitor the lawn for dry areas, and confirm that every zone has even coverage. If you are unsure about any of these recommendations, please contact our office and we'll be happy to provide additional guidance.

RECOMMENDED SPRINKLER SETTINGS

Make sure your lawn receives at least 1½ inches per week.

Rainfall + irrigation

At least 1½ inches total each week

During this period, it is essential that your lawn receives at least 1½ inches of water per week from rainfall and sprinkler watering combined. If you did not increase your watering after the last visit, it is essential to increase it now to meet your lawn's needs during the hottest parts of summer. Measure rainfall and use your sprinklers to make up the difference. As summer heat builds, monitor soil moisture and increase watering as needed. If we are in a drought, use the watering calculator and select “Extreme heat or drought” for the 2-inch-per-week target to adjust your sprinkler schedule. Enter recent rainfall so it counts toward the total.

WEEKLY TOTAL5 × 30-minute passes150 minutes per zone · About 1½ inches
ACROSS TWO WATERING DAYSDay 1: 3 passes · Day 2: 2 passesSeparate watering days by two or three days. Run each zone for 30 minutes per pass through the complete system.

Large sprinkler systems: If your sprinkler system has a large number of zones, you may not be able to follow the suggested schedule exactly. Spread the watering passes across multiple consecutive days as needed, keeping the same total watering time per zone and following local watering rules.

Follow the treatment watering instructions above first. Adjust runtime for your measured sprinkler output and rainfall, and follow local watering rules.

01

What We Applied

A summer fertilizer application designed to maintain lawn color and turf thickness, plus spot treatment of active weeds when heat and lawn conditions allow.

02

Why It Matters

Appropriate summer nutrition helps support turf density and color. A dense, properly watered lawn is also better able to compete with new weeds.

03

What You May Notice

Fertilizer response depends heavily on adequate moisture. During extreme heat, weed-control results may be slower, and some treatments may be limited to protect the lawn.

04

Grass-Specific Notes

Bermuda and Zoysia are actively growing but can still show drought stress. St. Augustine requires dependable moisture and treatment choices suited to its summer tolerances.

WHEN TO CONTACT GREEN GRASS

Contact us if the lawn remains wilted after proper watering, develops expanding brown areas, or shows an unusual response after treatment.
