SIGNATURE PROGRAM ROUND 1

Early-Season Weed Prevention & Control

Start here after your service. These are the standard instructions for this treatment round.

ROUND1OF 7

People & pets

Stay off the treated lawn until it is completely dry, with a two-hour minimum.

Watering

Do not irrigate today. Beginning tomorrow, lightly water the lawn to move the pre-emergent into the upper soil.

Mowing

Typically, it is not necessary to mow this time of year. If you do cut the grass, wait 48 hours after the treatment.

Protect the barrier

Avoid aeration, aggressive raking, or other soil disturbance after the barrier is established.

If your service completion email identifies a property-specific adjustment, follow that exception for this visit.

SEASONAL ADJUSTMENTS

Cold weather can slow visible results.

Existing weeds may twist, yellow, and decline gradually instead of disappearing immediately. The grass is dormant this time of year, so regular watering is not necessary, but it is very important to turn on the sprinkler system to water in the pre-emergent. If you are unsure about any of these recommendations, please contact our office and we'll be happy to provide additional guidance.

RECOMMENDED SPRINKLER SETTINGS

Water in the treatment, then turn the system off.

After this service

Water in the pre-emergent first

Follow the watering instructions above: do not irrigate on the day of treatment. Beginning tomorrow, lightly water the lawn to move the pre-emergent into the upper soil. Once it is watered in, turn your sprinkler system back off.

During the dormant season

No routine watering needed

Regular watering is usually unnecessary this time of year. During an extended drought, water occasionally if the soil is dry to restore moisture in the root zone, then turn the system back off.

01

What We Applied

A broadcast pre-emergent treatment to help prevent many annual weeds, along with post-emergent control for visible weeds when lawn and weather conditions allow.

02

Why It Matters

This visit establishes the lawn's first seasonal weed barrier. Preventing weeds before they germinate reduces later competition for water, light, and nutrients.

03

What You May Notice

A few breakthroughs do not mean the barrier failed. Edges, thin turf, disturbed soil, and newly installed sod are the most common breakthrough areas.

04

Grass-Specific Notes

Bermuda, Zoysia, and St. Augustine tolerate selective weed-control products differently. We match the treatment to your grass and current conditions.

WHEN TO CONTACT GREEN GRASS

Tell us before installing sod, seed, or plugs, performing soil work, or if treated weeds show no change after 21 days.
